I can so resonate with this, dear Trista. I have also assumed the role of the caretaker in my family and have had difficulties in allowing myself to become successful because I had always subconsciously sought the approval of my parents.

But now I realized, the only approval I needed was that of myself. Once I gave myself permission to grow into the person I am today, things started to blossom in my life. I am work in progress and the best part is that I am not standing in my own way anymore. I've teamed up with myself. It feels liberating and empowering.

Asking for help from others is still something I am working on.
